Origin

In 1997, the En Gedi Ensemble was founded in Chicago. Its goal is to provide comfort and vital energy to the tired soul with music and to fulfill our role as the light and the salt by using the talents we received through charity concerts for those in need.

The annexed Chicago Youth En Gedi Ensemble was formed in 1998 for the same basis. And the San Diego Youth En Gedi Ensemble was later created in 2005.

Through charity concerts, we fundraised for North Korean children, North Korean refugee children, African children, homeless people, Korean orphans, disabled people, single mothers, refugees in the Dominican Republic, victims of the flood in Korea, and Mexico.

By using received talent, students learn to share from an early age and turn their eyes to see their neighbors in need. We want to serve to help those through our talent.

  • Our motto is Praise, Humility and Service.

Our Mission

Youth En Gedi strives to serve communities in need around the world, including abandoned North Korean orphans and homeless populations, through music. The ensemble, composed of high school students ranging from 6th to 12th graders, holds benefit concerts, performs at senior homes, and conducts mission trips to raise money and awareness all while sharing their love of music and worshipping God.
